Privacy Policy

1. The Short Version

VmailVault is a local-first, privacy-by-design application. Your voicemail records, screenshots, audio files, and all other data are stored only on your device. We cannot view, retrieve, or recover it. This is by design — your privacy is absolute because your data never leaves your device.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect:

• Your voicemail records, screenshots, audio files, or transcripts
• Personal information such as your name, email, or phone number
• Usage analytics or behavioral data
• Location data
• Device identifiers or fingerprints
• Cookies for tracking purposes

3. Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is stored locally in your browser and never transmitted:

• IndexedDB/localStorage: Your voicemail records, screenshots, audio attachments, notes, tags, case classifications, and app settings.
• Service Worker cache: A cached copy of the app's code files so VmailVault works offline.
• PIN hash: If you set a PIN lock, a SHA-256 hash of your PIN is stored locally. The actual PIN is never stored.

You can delete all of this data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for vmailvault.com.

4. AI Screenshot Extraction (Optional)

VmailVault includes an optional feature that uses AI (Anthropic Claude) to extract caller information from voicemail screenshots. When you use this feature:

• Your screenshot is sent to Anthropic's API for processing.
• You provide your own Anthropic API key, which is stored locally on your device.
• We do not have access to your API key or the images you submit.
• Anthropic's use of this data is governed by their privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.

This feature is entirely opt-in. You can use VmailVault without it by entering caller information manually.

5. Payment Processing

If you purchase a VmailVault Pro license, payment is processed by LemonSqueezy, a third-party payment processor. When you make a purchase:

• Your payment information (credit card, billing address, email) is collected and processed by LemonSqueezy, not by VmailVault.
• We receive a license key and confirmation of purchase. We do not receive or store your payment details.
• LemonSqueezy's privacy policy governs how they handle your payment data. You can review their policy at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.

6. Website Hosting

The VmailVault application is hosted on Netlify. When you visit vmailvault.com, Netlify may automatically collect standard server logs including your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. This is standard web hosting behavior and is governed by Netlify's privacy policy.

We do not use these logs for tracking or analytics. We do not add any tracking scripts, pixels, or analytics tools to the App.

7. Exporting and Sharing Data

When you use VmailVault's export or sharing features:

• Backup files (.json): Generated and downloaded directly to your device. Not transmitted through our servers.
• PDF Evidence Reports: Generated locally in your browser and saved to your device.
• PrestoListo export: Data is packaged locally and saved to your device for import into PrestoListo.

We are never involved in the transfer of your data between you and another person or application.

8. Children's Privacy

VmailVault is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Since all data is stored locally on your device, we have no means of identifying or collecting information from any user, including children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
